Data deletion request
This deletes one child's profile from SleighTalk, along with their conversation history, wishlist items, stories, letters, drawings and stored audio files. Your other children and your account are not affected. To delete your whole account, every child on it and your sign-in, see Account deletion.
Delete a child's data
Permanently remove one child's profile, conversation transcripts and wishlist items. This cannot be undone.
What data gets deleted
- Child profiles: all child names, ages, interests, avatars
- Conversation history: all transcripts and summaries
- Wish list items: all saved items
- Stories and letters: stories and letters to Santa saved for your children
- Audio: audio files we store for your children
Deletion timeline
- Right away: your request is logged and queued for processing
- Within about 6 hours: the child's profile and the data listed above are deleted from our database automatically. If the name you typed doesn't match exactly one child on your account, nothing is deleted and we review the request by hand
- Automatic deletion, even without a request: conversation data is deleted automatically after 30 days by default — you can set anywhere from 0 to 90 days in the app. The cleanup job runs every 72 hours, so automatic deletion can take up to 3 days after data expires.
Data we may retain
- Anonymized analytics: general usage statistics with no identifying information
- Safety records: records of safety incidents are retained for compliance and child-safety review
- Legal obligations: we may retain records for 7 years if required by law (e.g., tax, fraud investigation)
- Support tickets: email correspondence with our support team, only if you ask us to keep it

Send an email to our privacy team with the subject line "Data Deletion Request", including your parent email address and a statement confirming you understand the data will be permanently deleted.
Verification process
- We verify your identity: we confirm you're the parent/account owner by verifying your email address
- We record the request: when you use the form above, you see a reference number on screen
- We process the deletion: the named child's profile and the data listed above are deleted; requests made with the form above follow the timeline shown

How long does deletion take?
Requests made with the form above or in the app run automatically, usually within about 6 hours of submitting.
Can I delete only one child's data?
Yes. This form deletes the one child you name; your other children and your account stay. To delete everything, use Account deletion.
Will I receive confirmation when data is deleted?
Don't rely on an email. When you submit the form above you'll see a reference number on screen — keep it, and contact us with it if you have any questions.
What if I need more information?
Contact our privacy team at help@sleightalk.com and we'll respond within one business day.
Can I delete my account instead of requesting data deletion?
Account deletion on the web and Settings → Privacy → "Delete all data" in the app send this same request, so they delete the same data. Neither removes your sign-in automatically — to close it too, email help@sleightalk.com.
